Creighton University's president says he will be back on the job soon.
In a letter to faculty and staff today, the Rev. Timothy Lannon said he will return to work full-time Feb. 1.
In December, Lannon underwent a procedure at Creighton University Medical Center to correct an irregular heartbeat.
Lannon, 63, felt ill while leading Mass on Thanksgiving at St. John Church on the Creighton campus and was hospitalized for almost a week. The condition was controlled with medication for a decade, he said, but the procedure was recommended by his doctors after the hospitalization.
In the letter to staff, Lannon said he would be attending some previously scheduled meetings this week before returning to full-time duty.
