Nebraska completed a weekend road sweep with a 28-9 wrestling dual victory at No. 21 Purdue on Sunday afternoon.
The 10th-ranked Huskers, who improved to 10-1 in duals this season, had started the weekend with a 28-12 win over No. 11 Ohio State on Friday.
Sunday was more of the same as Nebraska won eight of the 10 matches.
Nebraska’s most impressive win came from Shawn Nagel at 133 pounds. The Kimball, Neb., senior trailed 14th-ranked Cashe Quiroga 4-1 during the first period, but Nagel was able to get Quiroga on his back and record a second-period pin at the 3:53 mark.
Nagel’s victory gave Nebraska a 15-3 lead at the dual’s halfway point, then the Huskers won the final four matches to pull away.
Husker junior James Green, top-ranked at 157, improved to 24-0 with an 11-4 decision over Alex Griffin, while Robert Kokesh moved to 26-1 at 174 pounds as he earned his seven major decision of the season with a 12-3 win over Patrick Kissel.
Nebraska is 4-1 in Big Ten duals — Penn State and Michigan are the teams unbeaten in league duals. The Huskers return to action Saturday at No. 15 Illinois.
