The headquarters of Sarpy County Habitat for Humanity will move to Southroads Mall at the end of the month.
Jon Costello, executive director of the organization’s Sarpy County chapter, said he will move Habitat’s supply store and office into a space on the upper floor of Southroads Mall previously occupied by Canth Awards.
“It will be on the east side and will triple the size of our store and double the size of the office,” he said.
Habitat’s operations are located in Olde Towne, where they have been since the group began 18 years ago as Bellevue Habitat for Humanity.
Costello said he is planning a “soft” opening for the Habitat store during the first two weeks of February, with a grand opening set for the second week of March.
Costello said he sees opportunities at the mall to build relationships with the several churches that lease space there.
Additionally, he said, it was important to Sarpy County Habitat its headquarters remain in Bellevue.
“This is where we started, and it has always been our base of operations,” he said.
