A 20-year-old Omaha woman critically injured in a fall from an apartment window on New Year's Day was released Monday from a local hospital.
A Nebraska Medical Center spokeswoman said Courtney Reiser left the hospital about 3 p.m.
Witnesses told Omaha Police Department investigators that Reiser was “highly intoxicated” and wanted to leave an apartment at 8220 Webster St. about 1 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Witnesses told police Reiser was persuaded to stay in one of the bedrooms. When someone went to check on her 10 minutes later, they found the screen removed, the window open and Reiser unresponsive on the ground about 20 feet below.
Officer Michael Pecha, a police spokesman, said there was no evidence of foul play. Pecha said police closed the investigation without issuing any citations.
