James Avery, the actor who played Uncle Phil on the '90s series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," died Tuesday at 65, various sources are reporting.
According to CNN, Avery died following complications from open heart surgery.
Avery's IMDB page lists 172 credits, including recent guest appearances on "Harry's Law" and "Grey's Anatomy."
And also, Millennials, if Avery's performance as Uncle Phil wasn't enough to earn him a place in '90s pop culture, he was also the voice of Shredder on the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animated series.
Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Avery's TV son Carlton, mourned Avery's loss on Twitter and Facebook.
