Two people were arrested Monday in Bellevue during an annual charity shopping event involving police officers and firefighters.
Bellevue police said Joshua Watson, 29, and Shantel Nigh, 30, both of Bellevue, were arrested on suspicion of felony shoplifting about 5 p.m. at the Shopko on Galvin Road South.
The officers and firefighters were at the annual Holiday for Heroes shopping event. They were paired up with more than 100 children who get $100 each to shop.
Shopko officials noticed the shoplifting. Watson and Nigh were arrested with almost $700 in stolen items, police alleged.
