Omaha police are searching for a man and a woman suspected in two robberies Friday night.
Officer Michael Pecha, a police spokesman, said that at about 10:10 p.m. Friday, police received a call about an attempted robbery at the McDonald's restaurant at 3909 S. 42nd St.
A man brandishing a long gun pulled up to the drive-through window in a red pickup truck and demanded cash from an employee.
The employee slammed the window closed, and the suspect drove away, Pecha said Monday. Witnesses reported seeing two people in the truck.
About 15 minutes later, police said they believe the same man and a woman robbed the Midtown Gas and Grocery store at 1222 S. 24th St. The store's surveillance cameras show a man and a woman in ski masks holding long guns and demanding money, Pecha said.
According to police, the robbers acted aggressively and attempted to strike the store clerks.
