A 1-year-old boy was injured Thursday morning and taken to a hospital after he was bitten in the face by a family dog.
Mark Langan, vice president of field operations for the Nebraska Humane Society, said the boy was bitten by a Labrador retriever about 9 a.m. at a home near South 122nd and Q Streets.
The boy was taken to Creighton University Medical Center, Langan said, and then later transferred to Children's Hospital and Medical Center. He said he didn't know the boy's condition.
The dog was not taken to the Humane Society's facility near 90th and Fort Streets for observation, he said. The family told Humane Society officials that the dog had been vaccinated, Langan said. Nobody was cited.
Langan said the case remains under investigation.
