Republican Pete Ricketts scored the endorsement Thursday of GOP U.S. Rep. Lee Terry, who announced he is backing Ricketts' bid for Nebraska governor.
Ricketts is one of five Republicans running to succeed Gov. Dave Heineman.
Terry, who is facing a tough re-election battle, said he supports Ricketts because he believes the businessman has the experience needed to create jobs in Nebraska.
Ricketts is the former chief operating officer of TD Ameritrade, a company founded by his father.
"Pete's experience creating jobs, managing budgets and helping small business owners set him apart as a candidate," Terry said.
