Benson's Louis Grill and Bar will close its doors at the end of the day Sunday.
General manager Paul Miller said the bar's owners are selling the whole property to Bucky's. The bar's location will become a convenience store with a gas station and car wash. (See Bucky's submitted plan here).
According to Miller, the business has been running since 1929 and became a legal business in 1934.
There is no official word on what will happen to the iconic sign for the former Louis Market, which towers over the bar. Miller said that he thinks it will remain where it is but was not able to confirm that information.
Rock band American Hitmen, who were featured on "America's Got Talent," will perform on Friday night along with local bands Sherry Drive and Grumble. The event is also a tribute for Marine Corporal Shane Kielion.
The bar will host an end-of-business celebration on Saturday night with $1 beers and $2 everything else.
On Sunday, local blog Hit That Dive will host a Haunted Hangover event, which will stop in at Louis starting at 4:45 p.m.
If you'd like to pay your final respects, the bar will be open Sunday from noon to 2 a. m.
