A Bellevue man who was trimming a neighbor’s tree died Oct. 29 after he fell and a rope became tangled around his neck.
Andrew Hall, 31, was alone trimming a tree in his neighbor’s backyard at 33rd Street and Leawood Drive. His ladder was on a deck attached to the house leaning against the tree. Hall had a rope tied around a chainsaw and his waist. While in the tree, Bellevue police said he slipped and fell from the ladder. As Hall fell, the rope became tangled around his neck. The chainsaw was stuck in the tree.
A neighbor called 911 at 12:23 p.m. Hall was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
