Bogard’s 29 isn’t enough for UNO

LAFAYETTE, La. — Transfer guard Brianna Bogard scored 29 points in her UNO debut, but the Mavericks couldn’t hold off host Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday, as the Ragin’ Cajuns earned a season-opening 80-68 victory.

Bogard hit 7 of 17 from the field and 15 of 18 from the free throw line for the Mavs. Freshman Mikaela Shaw added 10 points and nine rebounds in her debut, which was also the debut of interim coach Brittany Lange.
