The University of Nebraska at Omaha women kicked off their season with an 85-54 exhibition win against Lincoln (Mo.) on Saturday at Sapp Fieldhouse.
In Brittany Lange’s first game as coach, her team broke it open with a 21-10 run to open the second half, and stretched the lead to as many at 33 points. The Mavericks shot 43.5 percent from the floor (30 of 69) while holding former MIAA foe Lincoln to 33.9 percent. UNO hit 16 of 21 free throws.
Ericka House paced four Mavericks in double figures with 19 points, including 16 in the first half as the Mavs held a 39-26 advantage at the break. The senior guard finished 5 of 12 from 3-point range.
Taijhe Kelly added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Brianna Bogard had 14 points and four assists for UNO, which begins regular-season play Friday at Louisiana-Lafayette.
