Omaha police are investigating the shooting of a 19-year-old woman who said she was leaving a large house party when she heard gunfire errupt.
Officers were called to the area of 63rd and Fowler Streets about 1:30 a.m. Friday to investigate a report of gunfire. When they arrived, they found about 100 adults at a party at 4506 N. 63rd St.
About the same time, Charlessa Smith walked into Immanuel Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound to her forearm. She told officers that she had been at the house party, but was walking to her car to leave when she felt a bullet strike her. Smith told police that she didn't know who shot her.
Police were unable to get a description of a suspect from Smith's fellow partygoers.
