DES MOINES — Iowa homeowners and shoppers were startled in two incidents this weekend of deer smashing through glass to get inside.
In Mason City, a deer broke through one of the glass doors to the Younkers store at the Southbridge Mall about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Sgt. Tiffany Creekmur said the deer was stuck for a few minutes between the inner and outer doors to the store. It was bleeding and appeared dazed.
The deer recovered enough to run off.
