An Oakdale woman has received probation for stealing two ferrets from a Norfolk business.
Kelcie Bellar, 19, was convicted of misdemeanor shoplifting after she stole a ferret from an Earl May store in September 2012. The first ferret she stole died, so she went back to the store and stole the second ferret.
Bellar was sentenced to 12 months of probation in Madison County District Court on Friday morning. Provisions of her probation included one day in jail, 120 hours of community service and a written letter of apology to the store.
