Omaha police arrested a teenager on a felony warrant of attempted robbery in an incident in which an elderly woman was beaten.
Naushkoniwaheega Hamilton, 16, was arrested Saturday around 9 p.m., Omaha police said. Hamilton was apprehended in the area of 33rd Street and Dewey Avenue, according to Omaha police, and booked into the Douglas County Youth Center.
Hamilton was sought in the beating of a 78-year-old woman and attempted theft of her television early Tuesday near 20th and Vinton Streets.
Police said the woman started to open her door after hearing a noise, and the assailant kicked it in. The woman was knocked down, and the intruder hit her in the head, police said.
The intruder left without the TV after breaking it in the scuffle.
