COUNCIL BLUFFS — Darwin Cox of Council Bluffs made no comment during his first court appearance Friday morning.
Cox, 55, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife, Millisa, on Oct. 15.
An affidavit in the case states that Cox called several people that morning, saying he'd shot his wife and then himself.
Cox appeared before District Associate Judge Craig M. Dreismeier via video hookup from Pottawattamie County Jail.
Dreismeier appointed an attorney for Cox and kept his bail at $500,000. His next court date is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 4.
