Men’s Health Day: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Urban League Family Resource Center, 30th and Lake Streets. Free health screenings and information will be provided for the entire family at this 12th annual event. Expect blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, flu shots, HIV and STD screening, colon cancer screening, prostate exams and kidney function screening.
Nebraska-Iowa Railroaders Historical Society and Museum Train Show and Open House: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Mall of the Bluffs, Suite 320, in Council Bluffs. There will be 11 operating layouts in all gauges. Free admission. Vendors will sell trains.
Omaha Symphonic Winds: 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 7020 Cass St. The “Prairie Views” concert will feature the world premiere of “Prairie View” from “Lincoln Highway Suite” by Nolan Stolz. Rock Bluffs School Open House and Annual Hot Dog Roast: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cass County Historical Society Museum in Plattsmouth, Neb. The event is free and open to the public.
Solar tour: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today starting at the solar arrays at Creighton University. The free tour will feature five solar sites plus an energy-efficient business. Directions and parking information will be available at CU. Bring your lunch plus lawn chairs or blankets for an outdoor picnic. Desserts and drinks will be provided.
