DES MOINES (AP) — Two men have been arrested in connection with an early-morning car chase that turned into a foot chase.
Des Moines police say officers tried to stop a slow-moving vehicle around 2 a.m. Wednesday because it didn't have its registration lamp on. The vehicle accelerated after a squad car turned on its lights and sirens.
A report says police followed the vehicle down an alley, and a weapon was thrown from the car.
Police say two men eventually got out of the car and fled. They were later arrested.
51-year-old James Lamar Pruit, of Des Moines, and 31-year-old Christopher Allan Wahlert, also of Des Moines, face multiple charges in connection with the incident. Court records do not list attorneys.
