WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A big second half helped No. 24 Nebraska secure a 4-0 victory Friday night at Purdue’s Boilermaker Soccer Complex.
The first half was scoreless, but the Huskers (10-3-1, 5-1-0 Big Ten) took control quickly after halftime.
Mayme Conroy, a junior from Omaha Skutt, opened the scoring at the 46:01 mark with a header that deflected off Purdue keeper Clara Kridler after a cross by Jordan Jackson.
Katie Kraeutner doubled the Huskers’ advantage in the 54th minute off an assist by Jackson, who also scored NU’s third goal in the 63rd minute.
Caroline Gray completed the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 72nd minute off another cross by Jackson.
Senior keeper Emma Stevens earned the shutout in goal, her second in Big Ten play and fourth overall this season.
With the win, Nebraska took sole possession of first place in the Big Ten from Penn State.
Nebraska plays at No. 20 Wisconsin next Friday at 7 p.m.
