POLK – The High Plains Storm hosted the Meridian Mustangs and Hampton Hawks in a CRC flavored triangular Tuesday night.
The Meridian girls defeated the Storm soundly 25-11, 25-16, but Hampton had a tougher time with High Plains as the Hawks were 2-1 winners, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20.
Hampton (1-1) improved to 10-10, High Plains dropped to 6-11 and Meridian with two wins sits at 9-6.

Meridian 2, High Plains 0
The Storm just could not get untracked in their first game as the Meridian girls handled the High Plains team with ease.
The Storm had only 10 team kills in the match as Danielle Shenk was 4-6 with four kills and Tayler Klassen was 4-8 with three kills.
In ball handling, the team had 15 digs with Abby Collingham recording four, Sydney Goertzen three, Anna Reeves and Rachel Beck two each.
In setting, Collingham had nine assists and the team’s only ace serve. The Storm had three blocks. Collingham, Shenk and Klassen were credited with one each.

Hampton 2, High Plains 1
In a much more competitive match, the Storm took the Hampton Hawks to three games before falling 2-1.
High Plains had 16 kills with Klassen (8-9) and Beck (5-6) each with four.
The team had seven aces as Collingham led the way with a pair. She also dished out 12 set assists.
Shenk and Klassen had two blocks each.
The team was charted with 27 digs as Collingham and Allie Hogan had six each, while Jenna Blasť added four.
Hampton (10-10) is back in action tonight hosting Harvard. The Storm (6-11) entertains Cedar Bluffs.
