Two Lincoln residents were among three people killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday about four miles east of Crawford.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the three who were pronounced dead at the scene were Patsy Baumgarner, 66, of Lincoln; Sandra Clark, 43, of Phillipsburg, Kan.; and Brandon Clark, 23, of Lincoln. Chadron radio station KCSR identified Baumgarner as Brandon Clark’s aunt and Sandra Clark’s mother.
The collision occurred about 8 a.m. (MDT) on U.S. Highway 20 in northwest Nebraska.
According to the preliminary investigation, Brandon Clark was driving a pickup truck west on Highway 20 when he apparently lost control of the vehicle because of weather conditions and slid into the path of an eastbound semitrailer truck.
All three occupants of the pickup were using seat belts. The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Chadron hospital.
