QUEENS, N.Y.— Twelve saves by freshman Danielle Rice helped the Creighton women earn their first point in Big East play with Sunday’s 0-0 draw at St. John’s.
The Bluejays improved to 7-3-1, including 0-1-1 in the conference. The Red Storm are 7-1-2 and 1-0-1. CU was outshot 30-8 while St. John’s held a 10-2 corner edge.
“A fair result as both teams had their share of the play. We dominated possession early, but had to absorb St. John’s attack at times,” Bluejay coach Bruce Erickson said. “Couldn’t be more please with how we competed today, (Rice) came up with a couple of great saves to preserve the point.”
Creighton returns to action on Thursday, traveling to Providence.
