City of Omaha traffic engineers say that:
— Sunday and Monday, from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day, and Monday evening, from 7 o'clock to 6 a.m. Tuesday, the intersection of 108th and L Streets will be closed.
During the closures, the eastbound and westbound off-ramps from Interstate 80 to eastbound L Street will also be shut. The closures are for milling and resurfacing of the intersection by Western Engineering. A detour will be posted.
— Monday at 7 p.m., Cuming Street, from 27th Street to 29th Street, will have various lane restrictions for eastbound and westbound traffic until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Also, Tuesday at 7 p.m., Cuming Street, from 27th Street to 29th Street, including the on- and off-ramps to the North Freeway-U.S. Highway 75, will be closed until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The closings and restrictions are for milling and resurfacing work by Western Engineering. A detour will be posted.
— Sunday at 6 a.m., the lane-restriction barricades on Dodge Street, from Turner Boulevard to 52nd Street, will be reset for head-to-head traffic in one lane each for eastbound and westbound traffic in the resurfaced eastbound lanes. The restrictions are in preparation for milling and resurfacing work in the westbound lanes that will begin Monday at 7 a.m. by Omni Construction. They will be in effect for two weeks.
Thursday, Mayor Jean Stothert said that the contractor expects to have all lanes of the overall Dodge Street project between 52nd Street and Turner Boulevard reopened by Oct. 14, about four weeks ahead of the city's original estimate of eight weeks.
And beginning Monday at 9 a.m.:
— An eastbound lane of L Street, from 23rd Street to 22nd Street, will be closed. The closing is due to utility work by MUD and it will be in effect for two to three days.
— A northbound lane of 120th Street will be closed at Stonegate Circle. The closing is due to handicap ramp and sidewalk work by Jackson Complete Concrete and it will be in effect for three days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m..
— Second Street, from Poppleton Avenue to Hickory Street, will be closed. The closing is due to a water main installation by MUD and it will be in effect for two months.
