Kick off your fall fitness routine at Skinny Bones Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch. Skinny Bones, in Blair, Neb., is hosting a 5K mud run on Saturday.
The race starts on a county road, goes through a pasture and mud pit and obstacles, before winding through the 10-acre corn maze.
“If they get lost in the corn maze it could be a 10K,” race coordinator Cindy Breitkreutz said, laughing.
There is also a 1-mile run or walk. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to wear Halloween costumes.
Bananas and water will follow. There will also be chili and cinnamon rolls available by donation.
The event benefits the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Washington County.
The 5K entry fee is $35, the 1-mile walk is $15 and spectators must pay $10. The fee includes admission to the pumpkin patch and access to the attractions, including hayrack rides, face painting, a petting zoo, a bounce castle, the house of mystery and a corn maze.
The 5K starts at 9 a.m. The 1-mile event starts at 10 a.m. Register in person at 7:30 a.m. on race day.
T-shirts will be available to those who register the day of the event on a first come, first serve basis.
