Authorities say a 27-year-old homeless woman was arrested last week in Norfolk, Neb., in connection with a drug and shoplifting case.
Norfolk police said Abigail Linke was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of shoplifting, possession of a controlled substance and on a Sarpy County warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Norfolk police said they reported about 7:30 p.m. to Norfolk's Walmart store after store officials said they had Linke in custody. The store officials told police that they spotted Linke hiding merchandise in her purse. She then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items, police were told.
She was arrested, and a search turned up several medical syringes, along with a spoon that had white residue on it and burned black residue on the underside. Linke did not have a prescription for the drug Lorazepam, which was also found on her, police said.
She was being held in the Madison County Jail in Madison, Neb.
