Manhattan, Kan. - The Nebraska women’s golf team is in seventh place after the first day of the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational.
Nebraska opened with a team score of 313 to sit in a tie for second after the opening round, but the Huskers settled for a season-high 329 over the second 18 holes.
Steffi Neisen entered the second round in second place after carding a two-over-par 74 in the first round. But the senior from New Prague, Minn.,finished with an 81 in the second round. Neisen closed the day in a tie for 12th at 155.
The tournament’s final round begins Tuesday at 8:15 a.m.
