If you could turn back time, you’d have to turn it back an entire decade to find the last time Cher performed in the area.
Now the Oscar, Emmy and Grammy-winner will perform at Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena on May 30 as part of next year’s “Dressed to Kill” tour.
The mononymous singer will give away a free copy of her new album, “Closer to the Truth,” with online ticket purchases. Ticket information has not yet been released.
Cher reached prominence in 1965 with her then-husband as part of the musical duo Sonny & Cher, and she went on to be a movie star, winning the best actress Oscar for 1987’s “Moonstruck.” Her music career continued beyond Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe” with solo hits such as “I Found Someone,” “If I Could Turn Back Time” and “Believe.”
Her 2002 farewell tour ended up being a 325-date event that grossed $145 million over three years and didn’t end up being a farewell at all. Cher has since performed in Las Vegas, and the “Dressed to Kill” tour will begin in Phoenix on March 22.
