Douglas County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people Friday after seizing $1.5 million worth of cocaine during a traffic stop.
Jaime Quinonez, 22, and Priscilla Pinedo, 27, were stopped at 9:15 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 near 96th Street on suspicion of following too closely, said Chief Deputy Tom Wheeler.
The two were traveling from California in a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. Deputies and the canine unit located a hidden compartment in the truck where 41.5 pounds of cocaine was stored.
Quinonez, the driver, and Pinedo were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and no tax stamp, both felonies.
