AppleJack Festival this weekend

If you're an “apple a day” kind of person, get to Nebraska City this weekend.

The 2013 AppleJack Festival runs Friday through Sunday. That means hayrack rides, corn mazes, art shows, helicopter tours, music and crafts. And apples. Lots and lots of apples.

There are caramel apples, apple doughnuts, apple cider, apple pies and apple-smoked sausage. You can pick apples yourself, buy them by the bushel or go to an apple giveaway.

The Society of American Travel Writers calls the AppleJack Festival one of the top 10 fall festivals in North America. And we agree.

Here are some of the highlights from the weekend's festivities. For more information and a complete schedule, see nebraskacity.com.
