DAKOTA CITY — A northwest Iowa woman has been found not guilty for her role in a January car crash that killed a Nebraska woman and her granddaughter.
A Dakota County jury acquitted Heather Reisdorph, 28, of Sioux City on Friday. She was charged with misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.
Authorities said Reisdorph was traveling on U.S. Highway 77 near Dakota City when her car rear-ended one driven by Patricia Oldenburg, 57, of Homer, Neb. The impact pushed Oldenburg’s car into oncoming traffic and another vehicle struck it.
Oldenburg and her 3-year-old granddaughter, Regan Coenen, died of their injuries.
