Five dream playhouses were on display Friday through Monday at Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion and will soon be on display at the Street of Dreams event at 120th Street and Military Avenue in Omaha.
Raffle tickets are being sold in addition to an online auction at www.BiddingforGood.com/LittleCASASuCASA.
Four of the five houses will go to the highest bidder. The fifth will be raffled.
The event is a fundraiser for Sarpy County Court Appointed Special Advocates, an organization that trains volunteers to serve as advocates in the court system for children who have been abused or neglected.
CASA volunteers experience 30 hours of training before being assigned children and advocating for their interests.
Despite receiving funds from Sarpy County and the State of Nebraska, Sarpy County CASA is currently able to serve only about half the children who are eligible for a CASA volunteer.
The playhouses will be on display at the Street of Dreams through Sept. 29, when the results of the raffle and auction will be announced. A special display titled “The Little Street of Dreams” will host the playhouses.
The playhouses are built by AOI Corporation, E&A Consulting Group, JE Dunn Construction, Leo E. Daly and Kiewit Construction, and Nathan Homes and Lee Douglas Interiors.
