COUNCIL BLUFFS — Southwest Iowa school boards have some new members after Tuesday’s elections.
The Tri-Center Community School District filled three school board seats. Incumbent Robert Larsen was re-elected and will be joined on the board by Jeff Anderson and Joe Turner.
Incumbent Mike Eikenberry lost his re-election bid.
Voters also approved a 67-cent physical plant and equipment levy, which will provide an estimated $140,000 each year for 10 years, said Superintendent Brett Nanninga.
The levy replaces one established in 1995.
In the Walnut Community School District, Shane Brockhoff and Tom Carroll were elected.
Brockhoff replaces board member Todd Ehlers, who chose not to seek an additional term. Carroll was appointed to the board in mid-2012 to fill a vacancy.
Former Treynor Community Schools Superintendent Gary Funkhouser will join the Treynor school board, as will Erica Schnepel.
Underwood Community School District voters re-elected incumbents Keith Petersen and John Rasmussen to four-year terms.
A-H-S-T Community School District voters filled four board seats: Bernadette Hatch in District 1; Amber Carcel, District 3; Robb Jacobsen, District 5; and Steven Kock, at large.
Riverside Community School District voters re-elected incumbents Phillip Reed, District 1; Lindsay Bentley, District 5; and Murray Fenn, District 6.
