Several records were set or matched Sunday and Monday in the area, including:
• Omaha: Monday morning's low matched the record for warmest low for that date. Temperatures bottomed out at 75 degrees, tying the record for Sept. 9, which had previously been set in 1983, 1931 and 1927. (Omaha's daytime high on Monday, 99 degrees, was one degree shy of the record.)
• Lincoln: The daytime high of 100 degrees matched the record for Monday's date, which had been set in 1931.
• North Platte set a record high of 101 degrees Sunday, breaking the previous record of 99 degrees set in 1955.
• Scottsbluff matched the record high Sunday of 98 degrees, previously set in 1979.
