An Ohio man who was driving a pickup truck that rolled over in Omaha, killing a passenger, was booked Tuesday on suspicion of motor vehicle homicide, police said.
Evan J. Shiplett, 30, had been at the Nebraska Medical Center since the accident Friday night near Interstate 480 at the 30th Street westbound ramp. He suffered chest soreness and a headache.
Alcohol, reckless driving and speed caused the accident in which passenger Matthew A. Doty, 19, of Council Bluffs, was killed, police said. He was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Shiplett was driving a 1991 Chevrolet 2500 when he lost control as he exited the interstate, police said.
Another passenger, Jacob R. Levene, 18, of Neola, Iowa, was not injured, police said.
