It's hot but not quite record-breaking hot.
The Omaha area saw a high today of 99 degrees, a degree shy of 1955's record temp of 100. The National Weather Service's Omaha/Valley office said it still could hit 100 today in Omaha, but it's becoming less likely as the day goes on.
Lincoln did hit 100 today, according to NWS, which is a record high tie for Sept. 9, 1931.
If Omaha does get to 100 today, it would be only the second time this year. We hit 101 on May 14.
If the low temp today, 75 degrees so far, stands until midnight, it will tie for the record of warmest low temp, with 1983, 1931 and 1927.
