A 46-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday when his pickup truck collided with an ambulance near Prescott.
Roger Moss of Prescott, driving a 1990 Dodge pickup, was taken to a Des Moines hospital after the 8:15 a.m. crash. The Iowa State Patrol said the 2012 Ford ambulance was in emergency mode but not transporting a patient at the time of the accident.
The ambulance was eastbound on 190th Street. Moss’ westbound pickup reportedly crossed the center line and collided with the ambulance, the State Patrol said.
Ambulance driver Edward Davidson, 69, of Corning and an EMT were not injured.
