Nebraska women set to play 20 games at new arena

LINCOLN (AP) — Nebraska women's basketball coach Connie Yori has announced a 20-game schedule for this coming season at the new Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Huskers will play exhibitions Oct. 27 against Pittsburg State and Nov. 3 against the University of Nebraska at Kearney before opening the regular season Nov. 8 against UCLA. Following a home game against Alabama on Nov. 11, the Huskers will play Utah on the road Nov. 15.

Nebraska plays at least 18 games against teams that appeared in postseason tournaments, including at least 12 games against NCAA tournament teams.

The UCLA game is the opener of a doubleheader. The Nebraska men will play 2013 NCAA Sweet 16 qualifier Florida Gulf Coast later that evening.

The Nebraska women were 25-9 and made it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament last season.
