A Papillion child-care facility had its license revoked last week by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services after an inspector deemed it unsafe and unsanitary
World R Us at 981 Patricia Drive has 15 days to appeal the decision.
The center was a 24-hour facility licensed to care for up to 130 children. Its license was pulled under an emergency order that cited a number of violations, including an inspector's determination that center had no hot water and an inoperable fire alarm system.
The investigator reported that only one of the 31 employees -- the day-care director -- had proper proof of her job qualifications. The director also was the only employee who had been checked against the Sex Offender Registry, as required by law.
Other problems found during a recent inspection included: infant cribs not meeting federal regulations; staff failing to sanitize diaper changing table; an unsafe playground; cleaning agents and poisons stored in an unlocked area.
