GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The Nebraska State Fair on Saturday surpassed the 1 million mark in attendance since moving here from Lincoln in 2010.
The honor of being the millionth visitor went to Angela Lents of Aurora, Neb., at 9:55 a.m. when she arrived with her family: husband Clay and children Austin, 7, and Tajel, 4.
The honorees received commemorative T-shirts, a $100 gift certificate to the 1868 Foundation Gift Shop, carnival ride tickets, vouchers for free fair food and tickets and gate admission to the concert of their choice. They also were featured in the daily parade.
