Although Omaha and Lincoln missed out on rain overnight, other areas of northeast Nebraska received significant rain.
That area of the state was at the heart of the greatest rainfall overnight in the central U.S., according to this map from the National Weather Service.
Among the highest reported rain totals in Nebraska were: 3.5 to 4.55 inches in Knox County, 2.33 inches in Nance County and 1.11 inches in Columbus and 0.94 inches in Norfolk.
