The Forensic Services Division of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office wrapped up National Forensic Week last Friday with a public tour of its facilities.
The Forensic Service Center was opened to area law enforcement agencies, county attorneys, city prosecutors, the press and the public.
Throughout last week, the Forensic Services Division held events to provide the public with an inside look at how forensic science works.
Attending the events were several attorney's from the Douglas County Attorney's Office including county attorney Don Kleine, the Omaha City Prosecutor's Office and the Sarpy County Attorney's Office.
Government leaders in attendance included County Board Chairwoman Mary Ann Borgeson, City Councilwoman Aimee Melton, State Sen. Rick Kolowski, Sarpy County Sheriff Jeff Davis, Mayor's Office Chief of Staff Marty Bilek, Dodge County Sheriff Steve Hespen and LaVista Police Chief Bob Lausten.
