This week's rainfall in the Omaha metro area is a thing of the past.
Becky Kern, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's office in Valley, Neb., said Omaha's next chance for precipitation is not until Thursday evening. Kern said there's also small chances for precipitation next weekend, starting Friday.
Overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning, parts of Omaha saw over an inch of rain, the first inch-plus rain since June 24.
As for this weekend, Kern said a "warming trend is on the way." High temperatures in the Omaha area today will reach the upper-70s or low-80s. Tomorrow's highs will be warmer, in the 80s, Kern said.
Moving into next week, highs on Monday could reach the upper-80s, with highs in the 90s on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before dropping into the 80s next weekend.
