Lot 2 is starting a six-month “dine and donate” series that benefits the city's art scene.
The restaurant is working with six art organizations. Each night during the series, when diners order off the regular menu, 10 percent of the total sales will be donated to the local organizations.
The series begins Monday, Aug. 26, with Maha Music Festival as the featured art organization. On Sept. 30, diners can benefit Hear Nebraska; Oct. 28, Film Streams; Nov. 10, Omaha Girls Rock; Dec. 9, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts; and Jan. 20, 2014, the 402 Arts Collective.
Hatch Chile Fest is back
The annual Hatch Chile Fest is returning to Roja Mexican Grill.
For the fourth year, the event will take place at the Old Market Roja, 1212 Harney St., on Aug. 24 and 25.
Hatch chiles are grown in varying degrees of heat; Roja will feature mild, hot and extra hot.
Guests can order food and drinks from a special menu featuring the honored green peppers. This year's Hatch chile menu will include fire-roasted Hatch chile soup, Hatch chile con queso, Hatch chile guacamole, Hatch chile nachos, Hatch chile chicken relleno and fire-roasted Hatch chile and mezcal ice cream.
Roja will also mark the occasion with $2 Pacifico beers, Hatch margaritas and bloody Marys, a beer garden, a mariachi band and prizes.
Roja will distribute bites of the freshly roasted chiles to anyone wanting a sample. The chiles will be available for purchase at $3 per pound while supplies last. Guests may preorder chiles with a 3-pound minimum by emailing email@example.com.
The event takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. or until the chiles are gone.

Sullivan's offers seasonal menu
Sullivan's Steakhouse is celebrating the end of the season with a “white hot” menu and party that features crab fondue, white cosmopolitan cocktails, Champagne drinks and white chocolate cheesecake.
The menu will be served on Friday, Aug. 30, starting at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress in white.
Flights of white wine will be available for $18, and some cocktails will be on special for $6.

Two Midtown Crossing restaurants have special dinners planned.
At Cantina Laredo, diners can enjoy a four-course tequila dinner with cocktails and modern Mexican cuisine.
The dinner is Friday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. and is $49.99 per person. The dinner takes place in the restaurant's private room, and reservations are required. For more information, call 402-345-6000.
Lucky Bucket Brewing Company is working with Black Oak Grill for the restaurant's first beer dinner.
The three-course dinner will be paired with four beers made at the Omaha brewery.
