LINCOLN — Tim Clare, the chairman of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, has announced plans to seek re-election in 2014.
Clare, a 50-year-old Lincoln attorney, said his goals will be to keep tuition affordable, ensure fiscal accountability, raise the bar of academic excellence and help NU contribute to the state’s economy.
A Republican, Clare had been mentioned as a possible candidate for governor. He was first elected to the board in 2008. His district includes most of the city of Lincoln and Lancaster County.
