People can ride Metro transit buses in the Omaha area for 50 cents per ride from Monday through Thursday.
It’s the third and last four-day period this summer in which riders can get 75 cents off the regular $1.25 bus fare.
The one in June generated an 18 percent increase in ridership; 12 percent more people rode the bus during the July period.
The Federal Highway Administration and the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency provided funding to raise awareness about ozone levels and air quality. A separate grant allowed Metro to offer the reduced fares.
The cost of transfers will remain at 25 cents during the four days.
