For 'American Idol' hopefuls, today is registration day.
On Sunday, crowds trying out for “American Idol” will take over CenturyLink Center Omaha, one of seven auditions sites throughout the country. (It's also the last audition, and everyone's last chance to make the show's 13th season.)
Photographer James R. Burnett awoke early this morning (very early) and headed over to CenturyLink. Below are photos of the scene near the registration area.
Here's to the early risers.
And Caleb Brown, from near Lansing, Mich., who strums his cello as he sings to fellow auditioners Saturday morning.
Perhaps some rose a bit too early. Vernon McMorris, 20, of Omaha naps on a pillow held by girlfriend Cheyenne Schlegel, 18.
Yup, maybe a bit too early. Jenni Carrier lets her daughter, Ashton, 18, catch a little sleep as Ashton waits to register Saturday morning. The two are from Bozeman, Mont.
Get psyched! Idol auditioners ham it up for the production photographer as they waited to register Saturday morning.
Omaha, represent! Elly Heckel of Omaha holds up the sign while in line.
Third time's a charm, right? Amy Degen, 26, of Williamsburg, Iowa, poses for the Idol production team. Degen is an English teacher trying out for the third time on Idol.
OK, so this line is long. Jasmine Joseph, 22, of Stuart, Neb., waits.
The end. Shelby Bauer, from Freeman, S.D., and Robin Myer of Yankton, S.D., show off their wristbands after registering.
They made it, too! Katilyn Kotchka, left, and Elly Heckel of Omaha show off their wristbands after they registered.
Now it's time to sing. Stay tuned for more Sunday.
