PAWNEE, Neb. (AP) — An Amish woman injured in a buggy crash east of Pawnee City remains in critical condition, but a friend says she is improving.
Fannie Yoder, 20, was still at a Lincoln hospital Sunday. A nursing supervisor said Yoder remained in critical condition after the July 21 crash, which killed her 17-year-old brother, Rueben Yoder.
But Kathy Monarrez, a friend of Yoder's who has driven family members to the hospital for visits, said Fannie Yoder has shown substantial improvement since she was admitted to the hospital.
The Yoders were traveling to church in a horse-drawn buggy on Nebraska Highway 8/50 when they were struck from behind by a Cadillac.
The Cadillac driver was treated for minor injuries.
