A 12-inch water main break that occurred Thursday afternoon has been repaired and service restored in the area of 84th and Cass Streets, the Metropolitan Utilities District said Friday.
A blocklong section of Cass Street, however, remains closed.
Water service to about 30 customers was restored about 4 a.m. Friday, MUD said, and back-filling was under way at the site on Cass between 84th and 85th Streets.
Once the back-filling is completed later Friday, MUD said, the city will take over the location for pavement work.
The blocklong section of Cass Street that is closed runs from 84th to 85th Street, MUD said, and may remain shut for five or six more days.
